Smokin’ Aces – April 17
Jeremy Piven as the coked up dealer everyone in the flick is gunning for? Me=There. Alicia Keys as a hot, leather clad, bad ass assassin? I’m totally
there. The disc itself will have an anamorphic widescreen transfer and English Dolby Digital 5.1 track and include an alternate ending, around twenty
minutes of deleted scenes, and outtakes. Smokin’ Aces? More like Smokin’ Asses. The sad part is I thought up that joke for twenty minutes.

The Hitcher – May 1
Hey, another pointless remake. Fantastic. Might as well stop beating that “I hate the remakes” drum, as there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight for
unnecessary remakes; what with a REVENGE OF THE NERDS remake, a WEIRD SCIENCE remake and the king of all unnecessary remakes, HALLOWEEN. Sean Bean’s a bad
ass, but I just don’t see him as a psychopathic killer. Bean’s next movie OUTLAW looks pretty good and hits the UK March 9th. UK readers should watch it
and report back how it was. You can find the trailer HERE.

Alpha Dog – May 1
Justin Timberlake doesn’t seem to be slowing down his acting career, presumably gaining more credibility by putting his dick in a box, but the reviews for ALPHA DOG (while lukewarm at best) have all commended JT on his
performance. Read our very own Tim Goernert’s (TimBlo?) review of the film HERE. The only
extras are a couple of featurettes called “A Cautionary Tale: The Making of Alpha Dog” and “Witness Timeline”.
JT sans box.
Donnie Brasco (SE) – May 8
If it’s not a remake, then it’s a double dip. This new “Fugazi Edition” has 20 additional minutes. I’m actually looking at the Special Edition that was
released years ago sitting on my shelf, and it has a bunch of deleted scenes, so the 20 additional minutes added to this new edition may or may not be the
deleted scenes on the old one. The disc will also include a director audio commentary, and an exclusive Donnie Brasco: Out from the Shadows featurette both
of which can be found on the old special edition. You know, sometimes you don’t make no f*cking sense, Donnie.
Apocalypto – May 22
Sugar tit observer Mel Gibson has to be stoked with the APOCALYPTO result. He’s made almost double his money back on the flick and almost everyone either
loves or hates it. It’s like Mohammed Ali said, “50% of the people love me, and 50% of the people hate. But 100% of the people are going to watch me
fight.” Or maybe that was K-Fed who said that. I forget. APOCALYPTO comes in 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen, along with DTS 5.1, and Dolby Digital 5.1
Surround tracks and English, French, and Spanish subtitles. There’s also an audio commentary with Mel Gibson and co-writer Farhad Safinia, a Becoming Mayan:
Making Apocalypto featurette, and a deleted scene with optional commentary by Mel Gibson and Farhad Safinia.
