Harsh Times – March 13
HARSH TIMES (starring Christian Bale and Freddy Rodriguez) marks the directorial debut of David “King Kong ain’t got nothin’ on me!” Ayer who has written some really great flicks like TRAINING DAY, DARK BLUE and THE FAST & THE FURIOUS (?!) He also wrote U-571, which despite sounding like the latest “get an erection” pill, has the distinction of killing off Bon Jovi. Think you can be an actor, Jon Bon Jovi? You’re living on a prayer. Stay tuned for specs and artwork.

Van Wilder: The Rise of Taj – March 13
Wow. What a piece of shit this looks like. “Tell me what you really think, Johnny.” Okay, it looks like a piece of shit. See you have to put VAN WILDER in the title or else no one would have a point of reference for the sequel, that somehow was released theatrically. For the uninitiated, Taj goes to London to bring the party atmoshphere to a class of uptight college kids. Horrible puns on the English vernacular ensues.
Includes:
- Anamorphic Widescreen
- Dolby Digital 5.1
- Deleted Scenes
- Union Jack-Offs: the Making of the Rise of Taj – Featurette
- On Set in Romania: Kal Pen Tours ‘The Barn’ – Featurette

Harry and the Hendersons (SE) – April 24
Hey, I remember seeing this as a kid and enjoying it. I wonder if it still holds up. So it goes, the Henderson’s, on a road trip, hit what they think is an animal but is actually Rosie O’Donnell. Actually, it’s a Big Foot type monster. Kevin Peter Hall, who played Harry and is now deceased, also was in BIG TOP PEE WEE and the PREDATOR. And here you though the Predator was Whoopi Goldberg. Shame on you.
Includes:
- 1.85:1 Anamorphic Widescreen
- English DD5.1 Surround
- English SDH, French and Spanish subtitles
- Audio Commentary with Director William Dear
- Deleted Scenes
- Harry…Finding the Missing Link Featurette
- Making of the Harry and the Hendersons
- Newswrap
- Theatrical Trailer
Twin Peaks (S2) – April 10
I think TWIN PEAKS was too weird for its own good. Okay, it was too weird for my own good. It creeped me out. The 22 episode second season is approved by David Lynch and is digitally restored from high definition masters. It has 5.1 Surround Sound and comes with new in-depth interviews and introductions. Kyle Machlachlan rocks.

Dane Cook’s Tourgasm – Out Today!!!
Ahhh, Dane Cook. What can I say? Loved his first two comedy albums. And then that’s it. Just don’t find him funny anymore. Tedious? Yes. After a certain point, you outgrow his schtick and move on. Or you just listen to Louie CK and realize, hey, isn’t that a Dane Cook joke? Nope, that’s a Louie CK joke from three years before Dane Cook “hit”. Dane Cook, good performer with good stage presence? Yes. Hack comedian? Listen to it HERE and you decide. Read Scott Weinberg’s review of TOURGASM HERE. Buy it HERE
Bugsy (SE)! – Out Now!!!
I will not be surprised if Warren Beatty runs for political office one day. Granted, there will be women in nursing homes everywhere claiming that they slept with him and that he’s a “two-timing, good for nuttin’ rabblerouser” (or whatever they used to say in the 20’s). BULWORTH has to be one of my favorite movies and his turn as Benny “BUGSY” Siegel was nothing short of a masterpiece. Scope out Sturdy’s review right here, and you can buy that shit HERE.
The Doors (SE) – Out Now!!!
I don’t know if you guys know this, but Jim Morrison made the scene, week to week, day to day, hour to hour. And then he smoked two packs of Marlboro Reds a day, drank a bunch of wine, got fat and had a heart attack in the bathtub. Then his “ol’ lady” Pam did a bunch of heroin and overdosed. And they say romance is dead. Mr. Mojo Risin’ incarnate, Quigles, check out this special edition of the DOORS biopic HERE. You can buy it, HERE.
