The Departed – February 13
There’ll be two editions for Scorsese’s latest, a single and two-disc “special edition”. Keep in mind that they are priced roughly at $28 and $35 respectively. For that kind of cash, you should be expecting more.
Disc 1: Main Feature (both editions)
Disc 2: Extra Features (Two-Disc Special Edition only)
Single Disc Edition
Two-Disc “Special” Edition
Crank – January 9
Crank is exactly what I did when I heard Amy Smart was in the flick. Crank is what I hoovered three days ago when I heard that Christmas was approaching. Let it snow, indeed. CRANK seems like THE TRANSPORTER only with Amy Smart co-starring, which means, I am there. STATHAM!

Flushed Away – February 20
Flushed away is exactly what I did when I watched the new OCEANS 13 trailer (found HERE). God that movie looks like it’s going to suck. Pacino or not, I’m taking a stand against unnecessary (in my eyes anyway) bullshit sequels and not watching them. Join the revolution. Or at least tolerate it.

I thought PAYBACK was a pretty decent flick, so this new (love the subtitle) “Straight Up: Director’s Cut” is interesting. Perhaps it has something to do with a certain Melvin Gibson. But even more interesting is that unlike most Director’s Cut where it tends to add a few minutes, this Cut clocks in at 90 minutes, chopping the theatrical cut by 10minutes. No details on special features have been released yet.
Romeo & Juliet Music Edition – February 6
Apparently, this “music edition” focuses on the music of ROMEO & JULIET. Clever, huh? I’m not really sure HOW it focuses on the music, but there are 3 audio commentaries. Pretty sweet huh? Baz Luhrmann directed one of my favorite guilty pleasure movies in MOULIN ROUGE. Ahhh, I feel so much better saying that now.

The Last Kiss – Dec 26
Gotta love Zach Braff. Well, you don’t gotta, but you should. It’s probably good to be him though. The guy seems to do his own thing, starring in the very cool SCRUBS, writing and directing GARDEN STATE (which he conveniently wrote a scene where he makes out with Natalie Portman. Nice, dude!), and possibly becoming Fletch in the upcoming origin story, FLETCH WON. Jason Adams reviewed Braff’s latest flick RIGHT HERE. Buy it HERE
Superman (4 Disc Set) – Out Now!!!
I’m just warning you guys, this review will piss off a lot of you Superman fans. And you know what? I love it. But just do me a favor and read the whole thing before you start sending angry, hate filled emails. Cool? I knew I loved you people for a reason. Our very own Quigles reviewed this four disc set RIGHT HERE and had a ton of positive and negative things to say. You gotta have balance, people. Buy that shit HERE.
Jackie Brown (SE) – Out This Minute!!!
You might be thinking, “Oi, mate. This Jackie Brown Special Edition’s been out for years, you prat. Bollocks to that, I’m off to the pub.” Why you speak in bad English cliches, I have no idea, but you might want to switch that up. I think JACKIE BROWN still doesn’t get the credit it deserves and I blame that on people’s expectation of Tarantino’s movies (and movies in general) of wanting action and character development and plot information fast fast fast. Anyway, Matthew Plale scoped out this classic Special Edition–for which all Special Editions should model themselves after–HERE. Buy the flick HERE.
