TURISTAS – March 27th
From reports all around, this flick hit theaters with a kind of so-so ferocity, but I will give it this- the DVD cover art here is awesome! Seriously, marketing frickin’ genius right here. One nice looking beach scene plus one hot chick in a bikini with a douse of blood spatter, and you have what I call one of the better DVD covers in a long time. Based off the cover alone, I’d totally rent this… hell, if I was drunk enough, I’d even buy it!

CREEPSHOW III – May 15th
The CREEPSHOW films are what I like to call ‘good times’, as watching people who deserve to die kick the bucket in comical ways always puts a smile on my face. But this STD might fall in the ‘shitty-and-we-know-it’ category, as Stephen King and George Romero are nowhere to be found in this ‘meh’ sequel. Boo!

ED GEIN: THE BUTCHER OF PLAINFIELD – March 6th
Ever wanted to see what kind of job Jason Voorhees alum Kane Hodder would do as Leatherface? Well, here you have it- no, not the Leatherface we all know and love, but the sick freak he was based on! Yes, it may be one of 400 Ed Gein movies made over the last few years, but check it out- it basically stars Jason Voorhees wearing someone’s face for a mask- I’m having fun just looking at the cover! Not only that, but the ‘tag’ line above is actually a quote for a critic! What the shit???

This here documentary is a love letter to the slasher genre, highlighting the classic films that bring tears to our eyes with every memory: BLACK CHRISTMAS, HALLOWEEN, FRIDAY THE 13TH, PSYCHO, PROM NIGHT, NIGHTMARE ON ELM ST…. and that’s just to name a few! See how slasher went from hot to not in a span of about 30 years, and see where the genre is headed today. Good times for the slasher fan in all of us.

DARK CORNERS – May 22nd
Remember oogling at Thora Birch’s boobies in AMERICAN BEAUTY? At that moment, I knew she’d be perfect for a horror flick- and now, here we have one- DARK CORNERS. It’s a British flick, and all I really care to know about it here is: will we see Thora’s fun bags again? I sure hope so…
The Goods:
SUCCUBUS: HELL-BENT –April 17th– Because the cover above sports what we refer to around these parts as “nice cleavage”.
BIG BAD WOLF –May – Because this attempt at being the greatest werewolf movie ever made just may end up doing it… or it may just suck, like the rest of them.
GANGS OF THE DEAD –May–
Because it’s about the on-going battle between street thugs and zombies.
