CADILLAC

Okay, I am thinking of a movie…It revolves around a car which has taken on a life of it’s own. It is terrorizing humans as it tracks them down one by one. If you guessed Christine, your wrong! I was actually thinking of a new movie coming from First Look Entertainment titled Black Cadillac. The plot of the movie? Three friends are are driving along in their car when it breaks down. Then they get out…which turns out to be a dumb idea as they are then terrorized by the "possessed" car. Wow. Okay onto the DVD features…

Includes:

  • Director Commentary
  • Making-Of Featurette
  • Deleted Scenes
  • Outtakes

If you enjoyed Christine, I’m pretty sure you should enjoy this one as well…Click here to pre-order the flick now!

THROTTLE

Keeping things in the automotive section of horror DVDs, I bring you another flick to accelerate into your DVD players. This time it’s Screen Media who is delivering us a film called Throttle. The film is about a man who becomes trapped in a multi-level parking garage, the worse news…he’s being hunted down by 6,000 pound truck helmed by an unknown driver. Pretty cool concept that hasn’t really been used. The DVD comes with no extras however, so the movie better be good…

This was the last we saw of young Billy, well actually the driver actually has a few pieces of him stuck to his tire treads, they will soon be available for auction on Ebay.

DRACULA III: Legacy

We have known about this flick forever. That flick being Dimension Home Video’s third installment in the Dracula series, Dracula III: Legacy (check Arrow’s review) . The flick does boast some notable stars such as Jason Scott Lee, Roy Scheider and Jason London. Dimension is being tight with the details, but they did release a cover, which is seen to the right, and they gave us a release date of July 12th. Check back for more details on the DVD.

Took them long enough to actually get the damn thing to DVD, so don’t wait a second longer pre-order yours now!

LIGHTNING BUG

Robert Hall has done some amazing work for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The X-Files and many other horror films with his creative and exquisite FX work. Now, he is tackling the directorial part of filmmaking with his first feature film, Lightning Bug (read Arrow’s review here).

The movie, which has won strong response at festivals, is about a teenaged boy who dreams of escaping his small Southern town via his talent for special makeup and creature creating, and is forced to confront the human “monsters” around him. Also includes, Ashley Laurence from Hellraiser, Strangland’s Kevin Gage and That 70’s Show’s Laura Prepon. Only a commentary track has been announced for the DVD. Look for it to hit DVD racks on August 9th.

Do you really need another reason to see this flick but to see this fine piece of skin in a horror movie? I think not…

GARBAGE PAIL KIDS MOVIE

Something that surprised the hell out of me but also pleased me, was the news of MGM finally releasing it’s horrible Garbage Pail Kids Movie onto DVD. Okay so it wasn’t Oscar-worthy, in fact it was bad. So bad though, it was good. You know what I mean, it’s disgusting, disturbing and just plain fucked up! What more can you ask for? Who needs a plot or star acting?

Includes:

  • Anamorphic wide screen presentation
  • English Subtitles
  • English Dolby Digital Mono Track
  • Theatrical Trailer

If you have never seen this film, your in for a treat. Easily one of the most disgusting films to ever be made.

Well, that’s the latest DVD News for this week kiddies. Be sure to check back next week for another column on the most up-to-date information on upcoming horror DVDs…til’ next time…"Keep the blood flowing!"
