ROTTWEILER

Fangoria just received the new DVD cover art for the latest killer-dog opus entitled Rottweiler. I’m not really digging this cover too much, doesn’t really look like a dog, more like some sort of cat or something. I found it’s other cover to be much more fitting. As for the plot, the movie follows the story of a dog who was beaten severely at a young age and has surgery, in which it’s bones are replaced with metallic bones. Later, this half robotic dog comes back for a gruesome revenge. Sounds good to me, killer dogs with some robotic enhancements and the gore is said to be very high on the gross-out meter. Hopefully, this flick will come out as good as it’s potential! You’ll just have to find out when the DVD hits stands on July 19th. So far, the only extra announced is a behind the scenes feature.

If you ask me, this poster looks pretty bad ass, why you would change it is beyond me. Oh well, don’t dread on that sour puss, go over to Amazon.com and Pre-Order Rottweiler now!

THE EYE 2

Okay, okay, so the Eye 2 wasn’t really the sequel to the Japanese hit The Eye. More like a spin-off that just capitalized on the popularity of the first installment. That aside, The Eye 2 isn’t that bad of a movie. The most unrelated sequel (maybe) focuses on pregnant Joey who teeters on the brink of madness after several fruitless suicide attempts. She’s the unwilling recipient of an influx of shadowy images that haunt her pervasively. In an attempt to quell this disturbing phenomenon, she hooks up with her secretive ex-lover Sam, who may be able to shed some light upon the mysterious twilight world descending upon Joey. Check for this DVD on August 9th. No extras have been announced as of yet.

Keep an EYE out for The Eye 2 to hit DVD shelves, but if you don’t feel like waiting…click this spot right here.

THE JANITOR

I always thought modern-horror could use a little cleaning up, but this isn’t quite what I had in mind. Nonetheless, get ready for The Janitor to mop his way onto DVDs via Elite Entertainment coming this September 6th. Known more for bring classics to DVD in quality style, Elite Entertainment is giving the 2003 Horror/Comedy some quality DVD treatment.

The story goes like this: Lionel is a custodian that longs for more. Bombarded with daily disrespect and insults from his co-workers, Lionel sets on a path of revenge and begins to brutally murder everyone in his path. My middle school memories are all coming back to me now..Here’s what Elite has planned for the sanitary slasher…

Includes:

  • Drunken commentary (this should be good)
  • A feature-length documentary “Blood, Guts & Cleaning Supplies
  • The short film The Office is Closed , which inspired the feature
  • Deleted scenes
  • An alternate ending
  • A music video.

I guess this guy wanted to give The Janitor a thumbs off, but realized he was missing the necessary body parts to do such a thing…

SORUM

Tartan Films’ other film is the award-winning Sorum, which is coming on DVD July 26th. The japanese thriller which is based around a decaying apartment building where the new tenant discovers that the former occupant of his room mysteriously burned to death. Further strange events lead him to believe the place has some dark secrets. In my opinion, this is just another example of the Japanese filmmaker’s unique vision to the Horror genre. Here’s the low down on the DVD…

  • Anamorphic widescreen
  • Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 Surround audio tracks
  • Director’s commentary
