Paramount and eOne's upcoming Dungeons & Dragons film is certainly putting together an interesting cast, and Deadline has reported that the latest additions to the fantasy epic are Hugh Grant (The Undoing) and Sophia Lillis (It). While it's not yet known who Lillis will be playing, Deadline's sources had indicated the Grant will be playing the film's villain.
In addition to Hugh Grant and Sophia Lillis, Dungeons & Dragons will also star Rege-Jean Page (Bridgerton), Chris Pine (Star Trek Beyond), Michelle Rodriguez (F9), Justice Smith (Jurassic World: Dominion). Please tell me there's room for Jeremy Irons to make a scenery-chewing cameo and I'll be happy. Jonathan Goldstein & John Francis Daley (Game Night) will direct the film, and also penned the script that was based on a draft by Michael Gilio.
In addition to the feature-film version of Dungeons & Dragons, there's also a Dungeons & Dragons TV series in the works with eOne tapping Derek Kolstad, the writer behind the John Wick franchise, with writing the script and developing a pitch for the series. The project is still in the early stages, but eOne is also looking for more writers to develop various other projects that will be set in the Dungeons & Dragons universe.
