Dumb and Dumber sequel may still have a chance

So, DUMB AND DUMBER may actually get that sequel after all. Jeff Daniels recently clarified his previous statements that the movie was “dead” and gave fans of the original some hope for DUMB AND DUMBER TO.

Daniels told reporters at the Television Critics Association that if everyone can get their schedules lined up, they may begin work on the sequel in May or June of 2013. When asked about what happened when Jim Carrey publicly backed out of the project, Daniels said “I understood why, because this has been a year and a half of a whole bunch of are we, aren’t we, what’s going on, yeah the script’s funny, no it’s not, now we have to have notes. So I think Jim just got frustrated and I completely got it. I was frustrated too. We thought it was in pretty good shape. The studio and others wanted some more work done it. The Farrellys wanted more work done on it so they got working on it and I think last week they decided to push the shooting of it to next year, possibly because I wasn’t going to move ‘The Newsroom.’”

So, nothing is confirmed or set in stone at this point, but Daniels is definitely giving the most positive news on the sequel that we have had since Carrey dropped out. Not once does he use the word dead, finito, or kaput. I just hope that Carrey agrees and signs on. Unless he is busy making the sequel to MR. POPPER’S PENGUINS. I f**king love that movie!
