Dream Dick 2?

Have you ever found a really cool movie and than
sort of felt like an idiot because you hadn’t heard of it before? Well that’s
sort of the way I felt when I read about the Japanese flick NIGHTMARE
DETECTIVE. The kick-ass title alone should be enough to invoke anyone’s
interest, and the trailer (seen below) is so cool that you’ll definitely be left
wanting more.

Well apparently that sentiment is shared, because
according to

Screen Daily, Movie Eye Production has just
optioned this dream wandering gum-shoe to return for a sequel (and possibly a
third), and once again the film will be directed by Shinya Tsukamoto.

This time around the story will follow around
a female high school student who is helped by the
mysterious manteau-wearing sleuth who can enter people’s dreams. Yah I
know, f**king sweet eh?

The trailer from the first film can be seen
below, and if you haven’t already I would highly suggest checking it out. I
guess the Weinstein’s hold the rights to the first film, so it’s domestic
release date is yet unknown. Hopefully we’ll get a peak at this thing soon, but
in all likely hood it it’ll be quite a while until a full American release. The
sequel is looking for some sort of 2008 release.
