We have the first trailer for Sara Colangelo's directorial debut LITTLE ACCIDENTS and if you're looking for a fun Friday night trailer to set your weekend off, this isn't it. It's full of small down drama and devastation with Elizabeth Banks taking on maybe her most serious role to date. It looks like it could be a special little movie full of great performances that takes an interesting look at grief and tragedy. As I said, it's not the most uplifting trailer for your night.
Here’s the official synopsis for LITTLE ACCIDENTS:
When a teenage boy goes missing in a small town already devastated by a fatal mining accident, three strangers find themselves drawn together in a tangle of secrets, lies, and the collective grief of the community. Reeling from the disappearance of her son, Diane (Elizabeth Banks) finds herself drifting away from her husband (Josh Lucas), a mining company executive whose role in the accident has made her family the prime target for the town’s anger. When she forms a dangerous bond with the sole survivor of the disaster (Boyd Holbrook), truths will be uncovered that threaten to tear apart the few remaining threads holding the town together in this intense drama from writer-director Sara Colangelo.
There are more than a few familiar faces in this one, namely Boyd Holbrook who I watched a few nights ago in SKELETON TWINS and the great young talent of Jacob Lofland who went toe to toe with Matthew McConaughey in MUD. Not too bad for a first feature; I will have to keep my eyes out for this one. The film opens in theaters and on iTunes January 16th 2015.
