Remember when Michael Douglas was doing the talk-show rounds last year in a
massive Brad
Pitt-esque beard? And no, it’s not what you’re thinking, WB was not
filming a sequel to the very awesome THE FOUNTAIN, but rather, Douglas was
playing the title character in a film entitled KING
OF CALIFORNIA in which he plays an unstable father who after getting out of
a mental institution tries to convince his daughter (played by the lovely Evan
Rachel Wood), that there’s Spanish gold buried somewhere under suburbia.

Now either Douglas is going for an Oscar, or this film is attempting to join THE
BIG LEBOWSKI as a stoner flick for the ages, but I guess we won’t know until the
film’s reviews start pouring in from Sundance, where it will be debuting next
week. No studio or release date for the film yet, but you can check out an
