While not the first, DOOM is still the quintessential first-person shooter game, with many things associated with it becoming completely iconic – from the grotesque enemy designs, to the badass weapons (like the BFG!), to that catchy midi thrash metal tune on the first level. And we've also seen it ported to many different unique platforms, whether its being played on ATMs, calculators, printers, McDonald's cash registers, a car GPS that's controlled by the pedals and steering wheel. And many more (so much so it's bascially a meme!)
We can now add the Playdate handeld console to the list, which you can see in action in the tweet from game developer Nic Magnier below:
