Don’t Look at the Demon trailer: Fiona Dourif supernatural horror film gets October release

Outsider Pictures has announced that the supernatural horror film Don’t Look at the Demon, starring the Chucky franchise’s Fiona Dourif, will be getting a theatrical release in over 100 theatres across the United States and Canada this Halloween season, beginning on October 7th. Along with this announcement comes the unveiling of a trailer for the film, and you can check that out in the embed above.

Directed by Brando Lee from a screenplay by Alfie Palermo (based on Lee’s story), Don’t Look at the Demon has the following synopsis:

Led by the troubled medium Jules (Dourif), an American team of paranormal TV investigators go to the home of a couple who claim to have experienced inexplicable, threatening disturbances. Delving into the mystery, they encounter possessions and apparitions more terrifying than any they’d witnessed before – actual contact with the other side. As the cameras roll and bodies are possessed, they’re inevitably overwhelmed by this violent supernatural force. Their only hope? Jules. She refuses to face what really happened when her first supernatural encounter left her sister dead. But her dark past, if she can unlock it, may be their only hope of stopping the demon before it’s too late.

Dourif is joined in the cast by Harris Dickinson (Where the Crawdads Sing), Jordon Belfi (Entourage), and Randy Wayne (Hellraiser: Judgment), who play the paranormal investigators.

Lee previously directed the films Chow Kit and Gangster Wars. He produced Don’t Look at the Demon with Danny Saphire. Thomas E. Nicholson co-produced, with Timothy Linh Bui, Matthew Kavanaugh, David S. Sobieraj, and Sridhar Sreekakula serving as executive producers. The director/producer provided the following statement to our friends at Bloody Disgusting:

There is a yin and yang in all my pursuits. I believe the world should have the good and the bad, both angels and evil beings. In essence, it is all about maintaining the balance of the universe. Intrigued by experiences I have been through, I started exploring the “them” around us. I am thrilled to be able to bring my personal vision to the movie screen, with my first-hand experience showing a realistic twist to a typical possession story.”

The fact that Don’t Look at the Demon stars Fiona Dourif is already enough to get me interested in checking it out. What did you think of the trailer? Will you be watching this movie in October? Let us know by leaving a comment below.
