DON'T BREATHE 2 appears to be close to wrapping up its shoot because its blind bad guy, Stephen Lang, has officially wrapped up his work on the horror sequel.
Lang took to Twitter this week and posted a photo of a few DON'T BREATHE 2 t-shirts while revealing to his followers that he has finished his work on the project. "I'm wrapped! A splendidly rugged shoot. Thank you, Belgrade. All health and safety protocols observed to the letter. Well done all!" Lang writes. You can check out Lang's Twitter post below!
It has been reported that the plan for the sequel, dubbed DON'T BREATHE AGAIN, will be releasing around fall 2021. Because it seems that the cast and crew are wrapping up filming, the movie is on track to actually see a release next year, which makes it a rarity in this current climate that sees so many films being delayed due to the pandemic.
The first DON'T BREATHE followed a trio of young thieves who were hoping to walk away with a massive fortune after breaking into the house of a blind man. The problem is, the blind man isn't as helpless as he seems and soon they become the prey of someone who is more deprived than they realized. DON'T BREATHE proved to be a sleeper bit back in 2016, grossing $89.2 million at the domestic box office and $157.8 million worldwide. Also, unlike a lot of horror films, DON'T BREATHE was also a hit with critics, scoring an 88% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The film also stars Jane Levy, Dylan Minnette, and Daniel Zovatto.
Not much is known about the plot of DON'T BREATHE 2 but producer Sam Raimi has referred to the pitch as the "greatest idea for a sequel I've ever heard." Co-writer Rodo Sayagues has taken over directing reins from Fede Alvarez but Alvarez does still remain on as a producer. As of now, Lang is the only confirmed returning cast member from the first film although there is room for Jane Levy to possibly return.
