It's time to learn all about those behind the creation of Winnie The Pooh.
Domnhall Gleeson and Margot Robbie have signed on for GOODBYE CHRISTOPHER ROBIN, which will tell the story of the Milne family who created the beloved honey-eating bear and his band of friends. Gleeson will play children's author A.A. Milne, with Robbie co-starring as his wife Daphne under the direction of Simon Curtis (WOMAN IN GOLD and MY WEEK WITH MARILYN). The film is set up over at Fox Searchlight.
GOODBYE CHRISTOPHER ROBIN gives a rare glimpse into the relationship between beloved children's author A. A. Milne (Domhnall Gleeson) and his son Christopher Robin, whose toys inspired the magical world of Winnie the Pooh. Along with his mother Daphne (Margot Robbie), and his nanny Olive, Christopher Robin and his family are swept up in the international success of the books; the enchanting tales bringing hope and comfort to England after the First World War. But with the eyes of the world on Christopher Robin, what will the cost be to the family?
Gleeson has been some doing fantastic work over the last couple of years (ABOUT TIME is one of my absolute favorites), and does anyone have a bad word to say about Margot Robbie's contributions since she burst onto the scene? I didn't think so. Therefore, I look forward to seeing how they come together to tell this story, even with my lack of interest in all things Pooh. They've at least gotten me curious on the basis of their collective bodies of work.
