Dominic Cooper replaces Henry Cavill for special services flick Stratton

A week before shooting was to begin on the Simon West-directed STRATTON, it's lead star and producer, Henry Cavill, left the project citing "creative differences." With production ready to go, a replacement had to be found on the fly, and that replacement was Dominic Cooper. Marvel fans may recognize him as Howard Stark, but as you can see in the first image from the film below, he's going to play a much more active character this time around.

Based on the Duncan Falconer novel series, STRATTON will find Dominic Cooper as a British Special Boat Service agent who must track down an international terrorist cell. He'll be joined by Gemma Chan, Austin Stowell, Tyler Hoechlin, and Tom Felton (aka Draco Malfoy). Now that it's big name has dropped out, it should be interesting to see how the film is marketed before its release. Cooper is a hell of an actor, but hardly the draw Cavill is. Director Simon West (WILD CARD, THE EXPENDABLES 2) doesn't inspire much confidence, so I hope the source material they're drawing from does them good!

STRATTON will be released sometime in 2016.
