Dolph Lundgren & Carl Weathers reunite for a Rocky IV rematch

After serving as both friend and foe to Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) throughout the first three ROCKY movies, Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers) met his end in ROCKY IV after stepping into the ring with Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren). As we know, that match ended in tragedy as Creed wound up dying in Rocky's arms, serving as the catalyst for Rocky to take the fight directly to Drago in his native Russia.

In real-life however, there's nothing stopping Dolph Lundgren and Carl Weathers from a friendly little rematch, and the pair recently caught up at Gold's Gym in Venice, California where they snapped a pic together.

Damn, they still look good. Time to get my fat ass to the gym. Although Apollo Creed died many years ago in the ROCKY franchise, his character was frequently referenced in the subsequent films and his son, Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan), is the focus of the recent CREED spin-off franchise. Dolph Lundgren even reprised his role of Ivan Drago in CREED II, serving as the trainer to his son, Viktor, for his bout with Adonis. As far as future projects go, Lundgren is set to star in a new action TV series executive produced by his buddy Sylvester Stallone, while Carl Weathers will soon be seen starring alongside Pedro Pascal in The Mandalorian, the live-action STAR WARS TV series set to debut on Disney+ on November 12, 2019.
