Full Moon founder Charles Band announced very recently that the Puppet Master spin-off Doktor Death will be available to watch on the Full Moon Features streaming service as of October 28th – and with that date only a week away, a trailer for Doktor Death has arrived online! You can check it out in the embed above.
Back in 2020, Full Moon brought us the first “solo puppet” Puppet Master spin-off, Blade: The Iron Cross. Doktor Death was announced soon after the release of that one, and at the time Blade: The Iron Cross director John Lechago was expected to return to the helm. By the time filming began, Dave Parker was in the director’s chair. Parker’s previous directing credits include The Dead Hate the Living! and The Hills Run Red, plus a segment of the anthology Tales of Halloween.
The version of Doktor Death Parker made has the following synopsis:
The most malevolent marionette in the PUPPET MASTER universe comes crawling out of his trunk in this shocking sidebar to Full Moon’s most beloved franchise! The scalpel-wielding Doktor Death is unleashed in a ramshackle nursing home and once the terror begins it refuses to stop until the pint-sized psycho surgeon has spilled blood. Get ready for the creepiest, crawliest and craziest PUPPET MASTER movie yet!
The film stars Jenny Boswell (A Shattered Diamond), Erin Eva Butcher (Chicago Fire), Melissa Moore (Sorority House Massacre II), Rick Montgomery Jr. (Blessid), Madeleine Dee (MindReader), Ashton Wolf (Mayberry Man), Emily Sue Bengtson (The Killer Next Door), Bill D. Russell (Evil Lurks), and Pakob Jarernpone (Baby Oopsie: Murder Dolls), with newcomers John Capocci, Zach Zebrowski, and Chad Patterson, and wrestlers Jesse “The Blade” Guilmette and Laura “The Bunny” Dennis.
I have been a Puppet Master fan since I was a kid, so I’m excited for Doktor Death and look forward to checking it out soon. Will you be watching this movie? What did you think of the Doktor Death trailer? Let us know by leaving a comment below.
