The STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS trailer gave me all sorts of chills and I am doubly excited after reading JimmyO’s take on the first nine minutes. The best part is that we still have no clue who Benedict Cumberbatch is playing. Sure, we can theorize, but it would be one hell of an accomplishment if we can get all the way to May without knowing if he is Khan, Gary Mitchell, or someone else entirely.
We have a brand new image from STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS that features Spock, Kirk, and Cumberbatch’s character who is billed as John Harrison, in a face-off. The prison walls appear to be glass which begs the question as to why villains like Loki in THE AVENGERS, Silva in SKYFALL, and now Cumberbatch are all kept at by by such a simplistic prison cell. I assume John Harrison is a little bit of misdirection so that we do not figure out who the villain really is. Or, we could all be overanalyzing and this is an original creation for the movie.
Whatever the case may be, STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS continues to heat up leading to the debut of the full trailer and the first 9 minutes of footage in front of THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY on December 14th.
