The new CHARLIE’S ANGELS movie from director Elizabeth Banks has gone full throttle into production with stars Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott, and Ella Balinska set to play the three badass super spies. Now actor Djimon Hounsou (CAPTAIN MARVEL) has joined the ranks of Banks and Patrick Stewart to become the third Bosley. What? There are three Angels, why can’t there be three Bosleys?
Variety reports that Hounsou has joined the latest entry in series, which began filming earlier this week. Along with directing and acting duties Banks is also producing and co-wrote the latest draft of the script along with Jay Basu. Not much is known about the movie, other than that it will focus on a new generation of Angels working to save the world…and that there will be three Bosleys.
This is but the latest action blockbuster Hounsou has coming up next year. Along with ANGELS, he will be in two of the most anticipated superhero movies of the year – SHAZAM! and CAPTAIN MARVEL – latter of which will find him returning to play his GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY characters, Korath. Hounsou is one of those great actors who can make a movie better simply by showing up, so as far as I'm concerned CHARLIE'S ANGELS is officially a better movie than it was before he was cast. We will see a lot of him next year, so cheers to 2019!
CHARLE'S ANGELS arrives September 27, 2019.
