Director shares new image of Linda Hamilton in Terminator: Dark Fate

Terminator: Dark Fate Linda Hamilton Tim Miller

Last month, director Tim Miller and members of the cast were in attendance at the CinemaCon event to share a look at some footage from TERMINATOR: DARK FATE, which marks the return of James Cameron to the franchise he created. Yesterday, Miller celebrated Mother's Day by sharing an image of the badass mother who will be featured in this sequel: Sarah Connor, once again played by Linda Hamilton.

Descriptions of the footage shown at CinemaCon mentioned a moment in which Sarah Connor shows up to save the day with a rocket launcher, and the image Miller shared – which is shown on monitors in the editing bay – appears to be from that same moment.

Miller says they're putting the finishing touches on a trailer for TERMINATOR: DARK FATE, and the trailer will be released in a few weeks.

Ignoring the events of the TERMINATOR films Cameron wasn't involved with, DARK FATE is a follow-up to only THE TERMINATOR and TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY. Cameron produced this sequel with David Ellison, and crafted the story with David S. Goyer and Justin Rhodes. Goyer, Rhodes, and Billy Ray wrote the screenplay. An official synopsis hasn't been released.

Hamilton is joined in the cast by Natalia Reyes as heroine Dani, Diego Boneta as Dani's brother, Arnold Schwarzenegger as a (bearded) T-800, Gabriel Luna as a Terminator, and Mackenzie Davis as "soldier-assassin from the future" Grace. There are also a couple CGI stand-ins: Brett Azar was the stand-in for a younger Schwarzenegger and Jude Collie the stand-in for Edward Furlong for the filming of scenes that take place during the time of T2.

TERMINATOR: DARK FATE reaches theatres on November 1st.
