Director Jon M. Chu gives an update on the status of the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe movie

So every great once in awhile we get a random update on the status of the HE-MAN AND THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE movie. This is our update for 2013 from director Jon M. Chu:

“We’re still early but we’re deep in experimenting. This is the most fun phase for me because we get to try everything we’ve ever wanted to try in [Masters of the Universe] and then we get to throwout all the things that don’t work, which is most of it. [This allows us to know] what our tone is, where we’re going to head with it and it’s a very important phase because it shows [us] the direction we’re going to go in the future. So we’re very early, we don’t know a lot yet other than that we’re playing around and having a lot of fun.”

I have no idea what to expect from this movie. I watched the hell out of some He-Man as a child, and one of my favorite action figures just happened to be She-Ra, but I feel like this movie can only have hopes to come out to be either more/less corny. Chu said that the script “blew him away,” because he too was hesitant at first. No matter what though, I am looking forward to seeing Skeletor come to life.

Are you guys up for a live-action version of HE-MAN? Plus, what about Chu helming it? He did films like STEP UP 2 & 3, JUSTIN BIEBER: NEVER SAY NEVER, and G.I. JOE RETALIATION. Verdict is still out on the last one. How can we make this good?

Sorry, I had to.
