Special effects artist/director Gary J. Tunnicliffe has been good about sharing behind-the-scenes images from his film HELLRAISER: JUDGMENT, the tenth installment in the HELLRAISER franchise, and since Dimension Films is being really slow about letting us know when we might be able to see the movie, it’s nice to get these BTS shots to help hold us over.
Tunnicliffe has a slew of such images on his website Two Hours in the Dark, including the choice shots featured here – shots that show the director on set, working with actors and hanging out with characters like The Butcher and The Auditor, a glimpse of Paul T. Taylor (who replaces in Doug Bradley in the role of Pinhead) at a costume fitting, and a moody snap of the new Pinhead in action.
JUDGMENT will feature Cenobites like Pinhead and Chatterer, but will also be showing us different sorts of hellish characters, like the aforementioned Auditor, who Tunnicliffe describes as a combination of Sam Lowry from BRAZIL and Itzahk Stern from SCHINDLER’S LIST. The Auditor is “a clerk, a blue collar worker intercepting and processing the souls of the guilty” and the head of a department that also includes The Assessor, The Jury, The Butcher, and The Surgeon.
Written by Tunnicliffe, HELLRAISER: JUDGMENT tells the following story:
Detectives Sean and David Carter are on the case to find a gruesome serial killer terrorizing the city. Joining forces with Detective Christine Egerton, they dig deeper into a spiraling maze of horror that may not be of this world. Could the Judgment awaiting the killer’s victims also be waiting for Sean?
Damon Carney stars as Detective Sean Carter, with Randy Wayne as Detective David Carter, Alexandra Harris as Detective Christine Egerton, Jeff Fenter as Karl Watkins, Helena Grace Donald as the ancient Jophiel, Grace Montie as socialite Crystal Lanning, John Gulager as The Assessor, Diane Goldner as The Cleaner, Andi Powers as a member of a hellish jury, Mike Jay Regan as Chatterer, Heather Langenkamp as a foul-mouthed landlady, and Paul T. Taylor as the iconic Pinhead.
Since playing Pinhead, Taylor has also worked with our own James “JimmyO” Oster on the film SICK FOR TOYS.
