Dimension is looking to fill new Hellraiser remake with “teens”

Last Updated on July 23, 2021

Just a couple of days ago, Eric Walkuski told you about HELLRAISER: REVELATIONS and how it was originally intended to be a remake.

Today, I bring you news about some new intentions regarding the new remake and possibly future installments. What does Dimension have in store for us? It looks like Christian E. Christiansen (THE ROOMMATE) is looking to tackle the remake with a unique angle. Dimension wants to cultivate a new audience for our beloved Pinhead by making the franchise fitted for “teens.” Yes, Teens. Dimension is already looking for a female to lead the cast. The studio is hoping to have Amber Heard (MANDY LANE, ZOMBIELEAD, THE STEPFATHER) fill in that position. Amber Heard, if you didn’t already know, has a reputation for being in teen thrillers. Look no further than THE STEPFATHER to realize how different of a direction HELLRAISER will take.

So in other words: all of the hardships and delays that the remake (and the entire franchise) has endured over the years (2000’s) have essentially been for Dimension’s scheme to gain a new audience? You’re telling me that greenlighting REVELATIONS was just a means to retaining the rights to HELLRAISER so that it could entertain the teens of MTV and Twitter?

Now, I don’t know about you but it’s now a sad Monday morning. Our Pinhead will now be “hip” and “relatable” thanks to the trendy kids of Generation X. Strike down below and let us know what you think of the matter? Will you still see it when it comes out or has this been the nail in the coffin for you?
