Now DIE HARD's got a board game, HO-HO-HO.
Like many of you guys out there, John McTiernan's 1988 action movie classic DIE HARD is one of my favorite films of all-time. Top five for sure. And thus I'm excited as hell to pass along word that Die Hard: The Nakatomi Heist Board Game is coming soon! Yes, the OP is bringing you the first tabletop game based on the flick that functions as a one-vs-many experience that recreates the storyline and tension of the original movie. It's said to be for 2–4 players ages 15 and up and it should take about 60-90 mins to play through.
Here's the full description of the game:
Die Hard: The Nakatomi Heist Board Game uses one-versus-many, asymmetric gameplay to pit protagonist John McClane against others acting as thieves who are co-operating to foil the hero's plan, which is to save the hostages in the iconic Nakatomi Plaza high-rise. Movie buffs and hobby game enthusiasts will appreciate the game's distinct homage to the 1988 film, which packs rules and gameplay to the air vents with callbacks to Die Hard’s most memorable scenes, characters, and events.
Check out the box art below! Die Hard: The Nakatomi Heist Board Game is coming in the second quarter of 2019.
The original film starred Bruce Willis as New York City policeman John McClane who is visiting his estranged wife (Bonnie Bedelia) on Christmas Eve at a holiday party in the headquarters of the Japanese-owned business she works for. But the festivities are interrupted by a group of terrorists who take over the exclusive high-rise, and everyone in it. Very soon McClane realizes that there's no one to save the hostages — but him.
DIE HARD was directed by John McTiernan from a screenplay written by Jeb Stuart and Steven E. de Souza based on the novel Nothing Lasts Forever by Roderick Thorp. Lawrence Gordon and Joel Silver produced. Willis's costars included Alan Rickman as Hans Gruber, Alexander Godunov as Karl Vreski, Bonnie Bedelia as Holly Gennero-McClane, Reginald VelJohnson as Sgt. Al Powell, Paul Gleason as Dwayne T. Robinson, De'voreaux White as Argyle, William Atherton as Richard Thornburg, Clarence Gilyard as Theo, Hart Bochner as Ellis, and James Shigeta as Joseph Takagi.
