A new teaser for the Dexter revival arrived on Father's Day and given the fact that it hints at the return of the killer's son, Father's Day was the perfect time to unveil this latest tease.
The teaser, which was posted on the show's official Twitter page, features a burning photo of father and son with a caption that reads "Wanna know a secret? Daddy Kills people. #Dexter" This teaser STRONGLY suggests that Dexter's son, Harrison, may be returning for a confrontation with his father. In case you need a refresher, the original series ended with Harrison, who had been abandoned by Dexter in an effort to cut off the serial killer cycle, in Argentina with Hannah. If the revival exists in real-time, Harrison would be approaching adulthood since the show ended in 2013.
We're dealing in pure speculation here since news of Harrison's return hasn't been made official. However, why set up a teaser like this if Harrison isn't coming back? The actor who played Harrison, Jadon Wells, should be about 14 or 15 now and, back in 2015 at the age of 8, he showed some serious interest in Crossfit. If he's still into that, maybe he's fit enough for a showdown with Dexter or it's possible that the show will just recast the role entirely.
Not much is known about the Dexter revival except that it takes place 10 years after the series finale and Michael C. Hall is returning in the title role. Clyde Phillips is also returning as showrunner for the 10-episode limited series. I'm kind of happy they're just giving us little nuggets here and there without giving away too much. Definitely builds up excitement for its return.
What are YOUR thoughts about the teaser? The Dexter revival is expected to premiere in late 2021.
