Goldcrest and The Tea Shop & Film Company are joining forces to conjure up the supernatural thriller SLUMBER, reports Screen Daily. Just what is SLUMBER? It’s the feature film debut from commercial director Jonathan Hopkins that taps into sleep paralysis and its parasitic demons. Sleep paralysis is such a fantastic subject to explore within the world of film because the all too real phenomenon tends to come with terrifying hallucinations and stories, making the horror genre the perfect outlet for a story like SLUMBER. I can't wait to see what Hopkins digs up!
SLUMBER will tell the story of…
…a sleep doctor who is forced to abandon scientific reason and accept that a family is being terrorised by a parasitic demon, which paralyses victims as they sleep.
SLUMBER, written by Hopkins and 2013 Blood List screenwriter Richard Hobley, will be produced by Mark Lane and James Harris for The Tea Shop. With production expected to begin next spring, expect to hear more from this one in the coming months.
