Description for the teaser trailer for Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight

If you were curious how a teaser for THE HATEFUL EIGHT could be screened in front of SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR this weekend, you must not know what a true teaser looks like. No footage, no spoilers, just a true tease of what we can expect once the film is completed. That, my friends, is a teaser.

Collider has scored a breakdown of the teaser which sources say will not be released online and can only be seen theatrically and it confirms that there will be nothing but text, still images, and music on screen when Quentin Tarantino's eighth film is unveiled. Instead, we will see the names and roles of each character in the movie. They are as follows.

Major Marquis Warren: “The Bounty Hunter”
John Ruth: “The Hangman”
Daisy Domergue: “The Prisoner”
Chris Mannix: “The Sheriff”
Bob: “The Mexican”
Oswald Mobray: “The Little Man”
Joe Gage: “The Cow Puncher”
General Sandy Smithers: “The Confederate”

Now, if the live readings are any indication, the cast could include Bruce Dern, Kurt Russell, Amber Tamblyn, Michael Madsen, James Remar, Walton Goggins, Zoe Bell, and Samuel L. Jackson. We heard that Christoph Waltz may be back but his name has not come up in anything associated with THE HATEFUL EIGHT live readings, but you never know. We do know that this is the synopsis for the film:

The Hateful Eight follows the steadily ratcheting tension that develops after a blizzard diverts a stagecoach from its route, trapping a pitiless and mistrustful group, which includes a competing pair of bounty hunters, a renegade Confederate soldier and a female prisoner in a saloon in the middle of nowhere.

Tarantino will shoot in 70mm, giving THE HATEFUL EIGHT a scope and grandeur or a bygone era, something the filmmaker has always been enamored with. As far as teasers go, this is going to confuse some casual fans who aren’t familiar with what has been going on with Tarantino’s latest screenplay, but it definitely will force some inquisitive minds to learn more.

THE HATEFUL EIGHT will hit theaters sometime in 2015.
