Denis Villeneuve’s Dune moves to Christmas 2020

Denis Villeneuve's big-budget reboot of Frank Herbert's DUNE recently wrapped shooting in Budapest and Jordan earlier this year. And today we have word that the film has been pushed out of its original November 20, 2020 release date and will now hit a theater near you on December 18, 2020.

Works for me!

How excited are YOU for Denis Villeneuve's two DUNE movies? Let us know below! Meanwhile, here's the official synopsis for Villeneuve's DUNE:

A mythic and emotionally charged hero's journey, Dune tells the story of Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet's exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence-a commodity capable of unlocking humanity's greatest potential-only those who can conquer their fear will survive.

The killer cast for the film includes – wait for it because this shite is crazy – Timothee Chalamet as Paul Atreides, Rebecca Ferguson as Lady Jessica, Oscar Isaac as Duke Leto Atreides, Javier Bardem as Stilgar, Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck, Jason Momoa as Duncan Idaho, Dave Bautista as Rabban, Stellan Skarsgård as Baron Harkonnen, David Dastmalchian as Piter De Vries, and Charlotte Rampling as Reverend Mother Mohiam.

Villeneuve directs DUNE from a screenplay he co-wrote along with Eric Roth and Jon Spaihts. Villeneuve is also producing with Mary Parent, and Cale Boyter, with Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt, Thomas Tull, and Kim Herbert executive producing. Kevin J. Anderson serves as creative consultant.

And remember to update your calendars as Denis Villeneuve's DUNE will be hitting your local multiplex in both 3D and IMAX on December 18, 2020
