Dennis Haysbert replaces the late Michael Clarke Duncan in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For

Here’s one last RIP to Michael Clarke Duncan!

In the late actor’s stead for the role of Manute in SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR, Robert Rodriguez & Frank Miller have entrusted Pedro Cerrano himself, Dennis Haysbert (seen above). Yup, the pitchman for what is it, All State (?), is headed to Vegas to mix it up with a smoldering harem of hotties.

In case you missed the first film, Manute is the brutal and seemingly unstoppable right hand man of Ava’s husband.

“Manute is a character that has been part of the heart of the Sin City tales and the late Michael Clarke Duncan beautifully established that role on screen. We could not tell the story of Sin City: A Dame to Kill For without Manute and are thrilled to welcome Dennis Haysbert to the cast,” said Rodriguez and Miller in a statement to Heat Vision.

No qualms here, Haysbert is the man. But better than Clarke Duncan? Not sure.

Here’s an Amazon breakdown of A DAME TO KILL FOR:

Stuck with nothing but a seedy gumshoe job and some demons, Dwight’s thinking of all the ways he’s screwed up and what he’d give for one clear chance to wipe the slate clean, to dig his way out of the numb gray hell that is his life. And he’d give anything. Just to feel the fire. One more time. But he can’t let himself lose control again, can’t ever let the monster out. And then Ava calls. With a new look generating more excitement than ever before, this third edition is the perfect way to attract a whole new generation of readers to Frank Miller’s masterpiece!
