Demonic: Neill Blomkamp’s supernatural horror film unveils a poster

We've already seen a bunch of promotional videos for Demonic, the upcoming film from writer/director Neill Blomkamp (District 9, Elysium, Chappie). There was 8mm behind-the-scenes footage, a teaser trailer, and a UK teaser – and you can see all of those videos embedded in this article. Now a poster for Demonic has arrived online, and you can check that out below. The film is set to reach theatres on August 20th.

While Blomkamp's previous films have all been sci-fi, this one (as you might have guessed from the title) is focused on supernatural horror thrills. It tells the following story: 

A young woman unleashes terrifying demons when supernatural forces at the root of a decades old rift between mother and daughter are ruthlessly revealed.

Carly Pope, Chris William Martin, Michael J. Rogers, Terry Chen, Nathalie Boltt, and Andrea Agur star. While Agur is a relative newcomer and Boltt is from South Africa (as is Blomkamp), the rest of the cast are all Canadian actors with a ton of credits to their names. 

Pope made her theatrical feature debut in Disturbing Behavior and currently has 90 screen acting credits, including roles on the TV shows Popular, 24, Suits, and Arrow. She previously worked with Blomkamp on Elysium and multiple shorts. Martin has 83 screen acting credits, including Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem, The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, and Supergirl. Among Rogers' 97 credits are Bates Motel, Fringe, Hellraiser: Hellseeker, and The ABCs of Death. Chen has the most acting credits of the bunch, 111. He was in Almost Famous, The Chronicles of Riddick, The A-Team, The Cabin in the Woods, Elysium, Godzilla, Jessica Jones, and over 100 other things.

Boltt previously worked with Blomkamp on District 9, and is probably best known for her current role on Riverdale.
