When I hear the name Julie Delpy I think of eclectic and sensitive independent films like BEFORE SUNRISE or WAKING LIFE, not blood drenched horror flicks. So you can imagine my surprise when I came across the news flash that Delpy will be directing and starring in yet another take on the Countess Bathory story. You know the story, right? A hottie psycho murders other hotties for their blood, either for the sake of preserving her own immortality or just fulfilling her unrelenting blood lust. The film will be titled THE COUNTESS, and ironically enough will co-star Ethan Hawke – Delpy’s co-star from BEFORE SUNRISE, WAKING LIFE, and AFTER SUNSET. Also starring in the bloody flick will be Radha Mitchell () and Vincent Gallo.
I suppose the news of Delpy directing a film like this shouldn’t be too much of a shock considering she was in AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN PARIS
