Del Toro Gets Spliced

If you haven’t heard of SPLICE, than you probably will in the coming year. It seems as genre genius Guillermo Del Toro will be producing SPLICE, a sci-fi horror film. To top it off, Oscar winning actor Adrien Brody has signed on to star.

Splice will be helmed by CUBE director Vincenzo Natali! The film is about Elsa and Clive, two young rebellious scientists, [who] defy legal and ethical boundaries and forge ahead with a dangerous experiment: splicing together human and animal DNA to create a new organism. Named Dren, the creature rapidly develops from a deformed female infant into a beautiful but dangerous winged human-chimera, who forges a bond with both of her creators – only to have that bond turn deadly.

This movie sounds hella-f*ckin cool. I may be one of few who still loves Del Toro’s MIMIC, so to hear that he’s producing this film has just perked my day.
