There are some actors who just become genre staples…i.e. Bruce Campbell or Jaime Lee Curtis. But Dee Wallace takes a back seat to nobody, as the actress has starred in a number of fright films including THE HOWLING, CUJO, THE FRIGHTENERS, ABOMINABLE, BOO, THE LOST, the original THE HILLS HAVE EYES and Rob Zombie’s upcoming HALLOWEEN. Now the word is that Wallace will be taking her talents to the set of Dante Tomaselli’s latest horror flick, THE OCEAN.
The boys over at Fangoria scored an interview with Tomaselli and he had a whole bunch to say about his latest film and starlet. “I’m the happiest director in the world!” Tomaselli raves to Fango about the casting. “Dee has been directed by Wes Craven, Peter Jackson, Joe Dante…and Steven Spielberg. She has starred in so many bona fide classics, it really sets the bar for me. This whole business of moviemaking runs on pure passion, and I feel so inspired—so hungry to make the best film possible with THE OCEAN.”
The Official Myspace for THE OCEAN sums up the plot as such: “It’s a movie about killer waves and the cleansing of the earth’s sins…It’s about the end of the world…God’s wrath…the ocean itself revolting. There’s a deadly Ebola-like virus spreading along a coastal community. The Ocean is an apocalyptic horror film with the story of a shattered family in deep psychic pain at the core. I’m excited to have Kindred behind the production of my next feature. “
