While HBO has been dishing out quality content for years, 2019 has the potential to be their biggest year ever. Not only does the final season of GAME OF THRONES air in about a month and a half, but fans of the series DEADWOOD are getting a long-desired follow-up with a new movie, reuniting the original cast. There’s also the new series based on Alan Moore and Dave Gibbon’s WATCHMEN comics, and in the new preview trailer for the upcoming slate of shows, we get some brand-new footage of all three upcoming events. Best start investing in an HBO NOW subscription soon, lest ye fall behind like a chump.

The most revealing of the footage is for the DEADWOOD movie, which finds Timothy Olyphant’s Seth Bullock speaking with Ian McShane’s Al Swearengen, both looking right at home in their roles (and mustaches) after all these years. After that, there’s some new GOT footage, and though there’s no tease of a big death we do get to see some dragons and a marching army, with young Arya (Maisie Williams) excited by it all – as we all would be. Then throw in a new look at WATCHMEN – with Jeremy Irons’ Ozymandias blowing out his birthday candle – and between all three you have a lineup that should have fans of fantasy, comics and generally great TV anxious for what HBO has in store.
There’s also some footage for other returning shows, including BIG LITTLE LIES and the final season of VEEP, as well as new shows like EUPHORIA with Zendaya and THE RIGHTEOUS GEMSTONES with Danny McBride, Adam DeVine and John Goodman. All in all, there's a ton of great content in here to get excited about, and that doesn't even include the upcoming second season of BARRY with Bill Hader and Henry Winkler, which starts in a few weeks. Like I said, get investing.
