No one needed to say it, but we’ve all silently agreed that Deadpool is a gift from the heavens, and the latest poster for ONCE UPON A DEADPOOL is taking that very seriously. The new poster for the redux of DEADPOOL 2 finds the Merc with a Mouth descending from the skies above, surrounded by what looks like a heavenly marching band, Fred Savage and the dog from JOHN WICK. Okay, that last entry is a bit depressing, but at least now we know all dogs go to heaven.

Taking footage from DEADPOOL 2 and giving it a PG-13 spin, ONCE UPON A DEADPOOL finds Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) kidnapping Savage, and in a homage to THE PRINCESS DIARIES, tells him the tales of his adventures – against his will, of course. The idea was conceived by Reynolds and writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, and along with the previously seen footage there’s new footage included that was shot over the summer by director David Leitch.
The initial run of the Deadpool sequel made oodles of cash, raking in $734 million globally, which was more than enough to recoup the $110 million budget. Not needing all that extra cash, $1 from every ticket sold for ONCE UPON A DEADPOOL will be going to the charity F**k Cancer, which for the purpose of the re-edit is being called Fudge Cancer. See, even Deadpool knows it's cool to give.

Here's the synopsis:
To kick off the holiday season audiences of almost all ages will soon be able to enjoy the Merc with the Mouth’s reimagining of Deadpool 2 filtered through the prism of childlike innocence.
"Fox has been asking for a PG-13 basically since the start in 2006,” Ryan Reynolds told Deadline. “I’ve said no since 2006. Now, this one time, I said ‘Yes’ on two conditions. First, a portion of the proceeds had to go to charity. Second, I wanted to kidnap Fred Savage. The second condition took some explaining…”
Fred Savage will join Reynolds in new scenes for ONCE UPON A DEADPOOL in an homage to Savage’s starring role in the 1987 bedtime-story classic THE PRINCESS BRIDE. Fred remarked, “while my participation in this film was anything but voluntary, I am happy to learn that Fudge Cancer will be the beneficiary of this shameless cash grab.
ONCE UPON A DEADPOOL is in theaters December 12-24.
