Deadpool 3: Charlie Cox sets the record straight on Daredevil cameo rumors

When it comes to comic-book movies, it’s easy to jump on every unfounded rumour. Charlie Cox inadvertently started one of his own earlier this month when he told the audience at Germany’s Roster Con 2022 that there was a place for Daredevil to show up in Deadpool 3. Naturally, fans started imagining the possibilities and the MCU rumour mill did its thing. While speaking the TechRadar, Charlie Cox set the record straight on Daredevil’s potential appearance in Deadpool 3 — he’s not in it.

Oh god, what did I say again?” Charlie Cox said. “Oh yeah, I said that in Germany, didn’t I? I can tell you now, I’m definitely not in Deadpool 3.” The actor didn’t want to lead fans on by remaining coy about the possible cameo. “If it ends up being true, I’ve inadvertently spoiled something,” Cox said. “If it isn’t, fans who are excited about something I say will end up being disappointed.” There you have it; Daredevil won’t be appearing in Deadpool 3. Unless… this is all a giant misdirection. Oh god, I’m doing it again!

Production on Deadpool 3 is expected to kick off next spring under the direction of Shawn Levy, who recently teased that the sequel will continue the R-rated, hardcore violence of the first two movies. “We are writing, rewriting, developing, prepping Deadpool every day now,” Levy said. “It is such a blast to laugh every day. It is so delicious to hear and write and come up with these scenes where people are just talking foul. And the violence is in your face and hardcore, and it’s very much a Deadpool movie. And it has Logan in it. And it has Wolverine in it. It’s too fun. I’m having so much fun, and I haven’t even hit the shooting floor yet. […] I have to say, developing a Deadpool movie is one of the most fun creative experiences of my life because it’s not just that it’s rated R. It’s that it’s so filled with self-awareness, and that makes in-writing very, very fun in a way that is unique to that franchise.“ As for Charlie Cox, he’ll be returning for Daredevil: Born Again, a new live-action Marvel series for Disney+. Production is set to kick off early next year, and Cox has teased that this new series will probably be a little less gory than the Netflix series.
