Deadpool 2 stunt driver killed on set in motorcycle accident, police say

Sadly, we've received word that a female stunt driver was killed today while working on the set of DEADPOOL 2. The yet-to-be-identified victim lost her life as the result of a failed motorcycle crash, the Vancouver Police Department say.

As this news is still quite fresh, it will be some time before we learn of any details. For now, the Vancouver Police Department have alerted the public via social media by tweeting the following to their official account:

Witnesses to the accident told CTV News that the incident occurred while the crew was filming a stunt sequence involving a motorcyle at Jack Poole Plaza when something had gone wrong. This death marks the second time that a stunt performer has died on-set within the last month; after stuntman John Bernecker encurred massive head injuries while on the set of AMC's THE WALKING DEAD. Bernecker was rushed to the Atlanta Medical Center for treatment but was unable to survive the incident.

Last week, DEADPOOL star Ryan Reynolds had tweeted this photo in honor of the hard-working men and women of the Vancouver Police Department, with the reference to Spider-Man being an obvious jab at the neighboring Marvel property:

We here at JoBlo.com would like very much to send our love and condolences to the victim's family, friends, and everyone in between.

DEADPOOL 2, as directed by David Leitch, will arrive in theaters June 1, 2018.
