With the American Film Market about to kick off, we’re going to hear about oodles of genre flicks in the works. Some may never see the light of day, some may be down the road just a little bit. One thing is always guaranteed when AFM is in full swing: Lots of random promo art.
And what have we here? News about a new horror flick from Ryuhei Kitamura, director of VERSUS, NO ONE LIVES and THE MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN. This pic is called DEAD WATER, and sales company Intandem Films is repping it. Peep the temporary artwork to the right and dig on the synopsis below:
THE END OF THE WORLD, AS WE KNOW IT, CAME TO AN END TWO YEARS AGO…
Led by our heroine a few scientists are sealed inside an Eco Station -a self-sufficient environment deep in the desert. The survivors in the Station know the deadly truth. They know that when the end finally came, it wasn’t what anyone expected. It wasn’t a virus that killed the planet. It wasn’t a curse from Hell. It was the water…
A chemical process, triggered somewhere in the world, got out of control and changed the molecular composition of H2O as we know it. Suddenly drinking it, bathing in it, even touching water would change a human into…
Something else.
Something unimaginable.
Something deadly…
The film is apparently in pre-production, with a budget in the $3-5 million range. No casting has gone down as of yet.
