Dead by Daylight: Hellraiser’s Pinhead and Chatterer have joined the game

Although the horror video game Dead by Daylight has been around for years, I have never gotten around to playing it. I might have to give it a try soon, though, because they keep adding genre icons into the mix. In addition to the game’s original killers, Michael Myers, Leatherface, Freddy Krueger, and Ghostface are also running around in there adding to their body counts – and now Pinhead from the Hellraiser franchise has joined the game as well.

Pinhead didn’t come to Dead by Daylight alone; with an alternative skin, you can also add the Cenobite called Chatterer into the game.

Dead by Daylight is an asymmetric multiplayer (4 vs. 1) game where

one player takes on the role of the savage Killer, and the other four players play as Survivors, trying to escape the Killer and avoid being caught and killed.

The game is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, the Nintendo Switch, and Steam – and until September 20th, the Steam version can be purchased for half the usual price.

Dead by Daylight doesn’t just have genre villains in it. The list of Survivors includes characters from Halloween (Laurie Strode), The Evil Dead (Ash Williams), and Stranger Things (Nancy and Steve), among others. Somehow Quentin from the Nightmare on Elm Street remake was even given the honor of being dropped into Dead by Daylight. There are also characters from other video games, like Resident Evil and Silent Hill. So the right mixture of characters can create crossovers we’ll probably never see otherwise, like Leatherface vs. Laurie Strode, Pinhead vs. Ash, etc.

I’m thinking of buying Dead by Daylight while this 50% off deal is still available so I can finally start playing it soon.
