A new trailer for DEADPOOL 2 arrived yesterday, where among a plethora of zingers, the Merc with a Mouth made a crack about the"darkness" of the DC Universe. While many were left chuckling heartily at the not-entirely-inaccurate dig, those behind the Twitter account for DC's TEEN TITANS GO! TO THE MOVIES were quick to remind Ryan Reynolds, who plays the assassin in the red pajama's for Marvel's R-rated action comedy franchise, that he was once a member of their family. That's right, the ghost of GREEN LANTERN's past has come back to haunt the Canadian superstar, who in 2011 sutied up as Hal Jordan for the studio's universally-panned comic adventure GREEN LANTERN.
You can see DC's retort to Deadpool's comment in the post below:
Oh DC and Marvel, why can't the two of you get along like our good friend, the black and white cookie? Certainly there's room enough for everybody in the big comic-to-screen boom of the past several years, no? Of course, the back-and-forth between the two companies is, so far, all just a hamless bit of fun.
After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry's hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World's Best Lover.
