Speaking of interesting cinematic possibilities not coming to pass (I’m looking at you, BLADE RUNNER), turns out that the sequel to Zack Snyder’s DAWN OF THE DEAD is, well, dead.
Definitely a new take indeed, and a part of what Snyder had called his “dream zombie project.” And possibly material for an extreme new condom ad? But either way, it seems that costs for the potential movie have rocketed too high. The story, an original by Snyder, would have involved a father who travels into a zombie-infested Las Vegas to rescue his daugher. But whether that sounds interesting or not to you, van Heijningen believes it to be shelved permanently. “They didn’t really want us to shoot in Las Vegas – because of the expense of shooting in Las Vegas. I really don’t think it’s going to happen. ”
