David Fincher’s Girl with the Dragon Tattoo red band trailer bootleg is here!

It was quite a time for trailers last week. We saw previews for DON’T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK, THE WARD, SHARK NIGHT, BAIT and KIDNAPPED, among others. This week is off to an equally exciting start with the red band trailer for David Fincher’s THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO.

Although the trailer isn’t officially scheduled to drop online until later this week, it was randomly attached to some prints of THE HANGOVER PART II – so, naturally, someone recorded it with their cell phone and put it online. For a bootleg, it’s actually quite good quality. We thank you, sly movie patron.

Not only does the footage look cool, but I’m also digging the Karon O/Trent Reznor version of Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song” that plays over it. I think the combination is just odd enough that it works. Plus the tagline, “The feel bad movie of Christmas,” is pretty rad. Watch the trailer below to see everything for yourself!

The film is directed by David Fincher and written by Steven Zaillian, as based on the novel by Stieg Larsson. Rooney Mara (below), Daniel Craig, Stellan Skarsgard, Robin Wright, Christopher Plummer and Joely Richardson star. It will hit theaters on Decembet 21 via Sony Pictures.

Forty years ago, when Harriet Vanger disappeared from a family gathering on the island owned and inhabited by the powerful Vanger clan. Her body was never found, yet her uncle is convinced it was murder and that the killer is a member of his own tightly knit but dysfunctional family. He employs disgraced financial journalist Mikael Blomkvist and the tattooed, ruthless computer hacker Lisbeth Salander to investigate. When the pair link Harriet’s disappearance to a number of grotesque murders from almost forty years ago, they begin to unravel a dark and appalling family history. But the Vanger’s are a secretive clan, and Blomkvist and Salander are about to find out just how far they are prepared to go to protect themselves.
