David Ayer reveals the Suicide Squad in the first official cast photo

The cast for David Ayer's SUICIDE SQUAD was revealed 5 months ago and it's fair to say that most were enthused. Sure, Tom Hardy dropped out with Joel Kinnaman taking his place (he's no slouch!) but for the most part, we have a pretty terrific cast for this flick. While there were a lot of peoplee torn about Jared Leto's Joker appearance in his recent picture, I think you'll hear far less complaints for the first picture of the Suicide Squad in their get-up.

From left to right, we have Adam Beach as Slipknot, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Karen Fukuhara as Katana, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Will Smith as Deadshot, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, and Jay Hernandez as El Diablo.

The Suicide Squad is an interesting choice for the third film in the DCU, but Warner Bros.' decidedly darker tone and style might just be what the doctor ordered in the midst of Marvel's more "colorful" collection of comic cinema. Following around a cast of bad guys for an entire film is no easy task, but this cast looks like they're up to the challenge. Hell yeah!

SUICIDE SQUAD will hit theaters on August 5, 2016.
