Dave Bautista, Kumail Nanjiani, Betty Gilpin & Natalie Morales talk STUBER!

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Can you imagine ordering an Uber and having Kumail Nanjiani and Dave Bautista pull up and take you to your destination? Well, in a way, you don’t have to imagine. In the new action comedy STUBER, the two very funny fellas bring back a bit of the old buddy comedy formula, but with a modern edge. While we all knew that Nanjiani was hilarious, it’s terrific to see Mr. Bautista continue to embrace the funny. The film also stars Betty Gilpin and Natalie Morales, and if you are looking for a laugh or two, this may be the film to go see.

Recently, we had the opportunity to chat with the cast of the new film. And first up we had both Nanjiani and Bautista together. The two discussed their own Uber experience, as well as embracing a modern look at masculinity with two very different on-screen personalities. As well, I mentioned how hilarious Dave is, and he genuinely appeared to be surprised that he has become quite the comedic talent. Either way, it’s wonderful to talk to these two, and here’s hoping that these guys work together again. They have terrific chemistry together and are certainly enjoyable to watch.

Next up we spoke to both Betty Gilpin and Natalie Morales. The two opened up about working on the film, however, it was especially unique for Gilpin playing a character that mostly appears on Nanjiani’s phone courtesy of FaceTime. As for Morales, the actress discussed working with the film’s leads and the energy they brought. As well, the two talked about their own appreciation for buddy cop flicks – or for Ms. Gilpin, movies like THELMA AND LOUISE. Finally, they answered an important question, could Kumail beat Dave in a fight? The answer isn’t the least bit surprising. STUBER opens this Friday at a theatre near you.
