So an old Bond and a new Bond villain meet at last! Pierce Brosnan (who, thanks to N64 and GOLDENEYE, is my personal Bond) and Dave Bautista (who played a good henchman in the otherwise uneven SPECTRE) are going to star together in a new action/thriller FINAL SCORE. Here's the official synopsis:
At a major sporting event, during which the stadium is seized by a group of heavily armed criminals demanding ransom, an ex-soldier must use all his military skills to save the 35,000 capacity crowd, one of which is the daughter of his fallen comrade.
This sounds…okay? I mean, it's basically DIE HARD at a sport's stadium, which is at least an interesting location. But it does also sound a bit generic, not just with the DIE HARD-riff, but also with the "ex-soldier" angle. Probably going to have a scene where someone has to tell the police how badass the main character is, listing off his medals and shit. I'm already sighing. Though, not going to lie, I do like that title.
What is also interesting is that the official press release doesn't say who's playing the villain or playing the hero (or if that's even how it breaks down), but I think either would be interesting. Although I believe Pierce Brosnan is a genuinely good actor, while Bautista is very charismatic but not necessarily a thespian (though there have been action stars who've survived on less *cough* Steven Segal *cough*).
As of now, the film is in production in London with no official release date set.
