It was pretty easy to forget about Darren Lynn Bousman’s thriller ABATTOIR considering the fact that it kind of disappeared for a while there. Well, it appears to be back in the spotlight once again as Variety is reporting that some new faces have joined the project. The new faces belong to Joe Anderson, Dayton Callie and Jessica Lowndes.
“I have been working to get ‘Abattoir’ made for the last 4 years,” Bousman said. “At times, it feels like it has been a non-stop push to see this thing into production. But reading the script, and looking at our cast, it has all been worth it. I couldn’t be more excited about the team I am surrounded with.”
Bousman is directing from a script by David Schow, Teddy Tenenbaum and Christopher Monfette. It goes like this:
The film centers on a real estate reporter who unearths an urban legend about a house being built from rooms where horrific tragedies have occurred. The investigation ultimately leads to the enigmatic Jebediah Crone and the answer to the terrifying question, “How do you build a haunted house?”
Jesse Berger is producing. Production is currently underway in New Orleans.
