While everyone is focused on Comic-Con, Darren Aronofsky is hard at work on the set of NOAH. He was even nice enough to tweet us a photo from location of…
The Ark.
No, not the Ark of the Covenant, different story. THE ARK. Noah’s big ass boat that measured 300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide, and 30 cubits high. I know, what’s a cubit? It was a unit of measurement used in the Bible. Here is some info I found in measurements we can understand (I don’t do math):
What were the dimensions of Noah’s Ark? The Ark was taller than a 3-story building and had a deck area the size of 36 lawn tennis courts. Its length was 300 cubits (450 feet, or 135 meters); its width was 50 cubits (75 feet, or 22.5 meters); it had three stories and its height was 30 cubits (45 feet, or 13.5 meters).
He tweeted this along with the photo:
“I dreamt about this since I was 13. And now it’s a reality. Genesis 6:14”
And Genesis 6:14, I used the New International translation:
“So make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out.”
Take a look at the Ark below. Damn that’s impressive. I want to go to there.
