Darren Aronofsky and Jared Leto reteam for supernatural horror film Adrift

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

It's a day or reunions, it seems, as Deadline reports that director Darren Aronofsky is reteaming with Requiem for a Dream star Jared Leto for the supernatural horror film Adrift, based on a novel by Koji Suzuki (who wrote Ring, which was the basis for the film Ringu and its American remake The Ring) for Blumhouse.

Here's the official synopsis:

The story is set in the dead calm of the open sea, where a fishing boat discovers an abandoned yacht with a strange distress call. A deckhand agrees to take lone control of it while it’s towed into port, but soon he discovers why the rest of his more experienced crew members call it a Ghost Ship.

Meanwhile, no official start or release date as of yet, but we'll keep you updated!

So what do you guys think? Anyone read the book it was based on? If so, excited about the upcoming film? Either way, sound off below!
