I don’t know what it is about
Italy that makes it such a great hot spot for kick-ass horror films, but it
simply is. And with that in mind, Fangoria has managed to scoop up a brand new
still from the Italian opus
DARKNESS SURROUNDS ROBERTA, and between the still seen above and the
synopsis I’m really looking forward to peeping this flick.
Directed
by Timo Rose, DARKNESS SURROUNDS ROBERTA
is about a beautiful but deeply troubled ex-painter whose
new life of philandering and thievery is capsized when a deranged art lover
kidnaps her and makes a horrifying proposition. Needless to say, the bloody
corpses of beautiful Italian ladies pile up, and the police must get the bottom
of it all.
Ever since I saw
SUSPIRIA as a teen I’ve been really into Italian horror. They always
seem to have a very distinct feel and look to them, and are generally a nice
refresher from our western horror. DARKNESS SURROUNDS ROBERTA will be
hitting DVD come October and if you want to find out more about this gorey new
flick, you can click here
